Marriage, one man, one woman.

The side of the debate on marriage by liberals invariably centers on “rights.” The Conservative rebuttal is to revert the debate to the natural law, because natural law trumps civil rights. Don’t let this point unsettle you because it is the same reasoning that placed attention to it by our Founding Fathers in the Declaration of Independence and Constitution. They understood the natural law.

Natural law demonstrates that male and female were created for one another for the procreation and education of offspring. Mankind has understood the societal magnitude of the coupling of a male and a female, and over time gave it definition and protection; marriage. However, bear in mind, the underlying natural law conditions to marriage are sex, procreation, and education of offspring.

This understanding of the natural law regarding procreation has a recorded historical basis of thousands of years. The Judea Christian biblical reference often used about procreation has to do with Zechariah and his childless wife, Elizabeth (Luke 1:5-25). In the times of Zechariah, a Jew who had no children could be removed from the temple (God). Childlessness has always been grounds for divorce. Actually divorce is a less accurate term for a lack of procreation in marriage. The better term is annulment, because the natural law prescribes that “marriage” not open to procreation, is no marriage.

Therefore, without procreative sex, homosexual marriage is a nullity, a void, because the sexual attraction, a condition to which we admit exists, can never procreate because the natural law made no physical provision for it.

Summary Points
1. The natural order attracts male and female into procreative sex.
2. Society found this to be good and protects the procreative union, which replaces society numerically.
3. Homosexual unions are a procreative nullity, which reduces society numerically.

Introduction Remarks
Conservative Party USA Convention
Friday, July 23rd, 9:30 A.M.

Although I greatly appreciate the fine introduction of me by Marcus Kohan, it did omit one new characteristic about me. It seems I don’t have good sense. You see, about three months ago, after sparring with a voter curious about the Conservative party, it ended up by the voter telling me “I was an idiot wasting my time.” That kind of bothered me until a few weeks ago I read where the MSNBC host, Keith Olbermann, called Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck, “idiots.” Now I feel better!

I can’t begin to estimate how many contacts I receive of that kind that have the purpose of dissuading our conservative movement. After going through the “you’re an idiot” stage a few times it was evident that the majority of the inquires were coming from Libertarians. I know they are Libertarians in fact or in mindset because our back and forth debate moves along lovely until we hit the social issues. At that point, idiocy becomes their defining phrase for our Conservative Party USA. Conversely at that point, my defining phrase now for those Libertarians is “Wimps.” As we recruit new members to our party, the questions on social issues pour forth. “What is our position on family, abortion, on gay rights, school prayer, and on and on?” Although these questions represent extremely important social issues, in my opinion, they have become ignition issues to what was a very simple social teaching of our founding fathers. Let me quote Thomas Jefferson, “The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government.” With just this 20 word pronouncement, Thomas Jefferson seized the high ground to social issues involving government. The Conservative Party USA must also seize the high ground in defining social issues to the electorate. We cannot play the liberal’s word games where we are lead through a torturous path the liberals laid out in order to ambush our Conservative Party positions. We must seize and control the high ground.

Those of you that have interacted with me know that I call the business plan of the Conservative Party USA, “Mayberry USA.” Yes, named after the old TV series with Andy Griffin as Sheriff Andy Taylor and his deputy Barney Fife. And we cannot forget Aunt Bee. Everyone has an Aunt Bee. Most of America connected to the Mayberry characters. Where this all fits in with the Conservative Party is that Mayberry demonstrates a vision of culture. Notice, I said a “vision” not necessarily reality. Yet, history tells us that the visions embraced by great historical individuals became reality. Most good and some bad.

At this point, many of you are now thinking, “Come on Sam, this country is falling apart financially, our kids are being dumbed down in school, our jails are full, illegal aliens are invading our country, we are up to our neck in foreign warfare, and all you talk about is Mayberry USA.” Ladies and gentlemen, I submit to you that the solution to reversing the havoc laid upon this nation by progressives starting some 80 years ago is the recognition that the individual is sovereign and connected to the Mayberry USA culture which is that just as a bird searches in flight for sustenance, man soars to successive greater heights of challenge for his God inspired sustenance – peace and happiness. Mayberry USA is peace and happiness.

Peace and happiness express the natural law of mankind. If you remember, in Mayberry there was little crime. Not much for Sherriff Taylor to do. Why? Because the citizens of Mayberry had an understanding of the natural law. The natural law is not a precise code imposed on us from the government. It is rather a universal and changeless part of man’s nature. It contains the elementary rules of good conduct that all people must abide by, conduct that came to our knowledge naturally by the use of our innate human ability to reason.

The English common law identified with the natural Law in such expressions as, “The law of Nature is that which God at the time of Creation of the nature of man infused into his heart, for his preservation and direction a moral law, called the Law of Nature.” Sr. Edward Coke (1552-1634)

The authors of our own Declaration of Independence followed this same tradition when they referred to the “Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.” Alexander Hamilton reflected on this spirit in saying, “God has constituted an eternal and immutable law which is indispensably obligatory upon mankind prior to any human institution whatever. This is what is called the law of nature.” End quote.

How does this apply to Mayberry USA? Easy! Good is to be sought, and Evil is to be avoided. We don’t need government to tell us that.

And now I see another rhetorical question growing in your minds. It’s bad enough that Sam avoids political issues head on in his introductory remarks, but now he is giving us a Sunday sermon on good and evil.

But I say to you, from this unalienable nature of man came the secondary principles that man instinctively knows and follows albeit in a rudimentary fashion. Let me set out a few natural laws.

God is to be acknowledged. What God? It’s your God, and that’s why we insist in America that our government not tell us which God is the “real” God. And also, we insist in America that our government not masquerade under that concept of the separation of church and state, to promote the alien nature that there is no Creator. Yes “alien” nature because our nature tells us there is “something” out there making “us” happen, although what it is…is based on our individual faith. Years ago, I read a poem that has never left me concerning this.

Where I come from, no-one knows.

Where I’m going, everything goes.

The wind blows,

The sea flows,

And no-one knows.

Consequently, it is a principle of the Conservative Party USA that the Mayberry USA citizens have the unalienable right to acknowledge their Creator, and when gathered in public assembly give honor to a creator without any impediment of government. Notice I said public assembly. (show cross) When I go to the beach, this cross shows. I never give it a second thought because of my Freedom of Religion. The Obama admisistration want to take that away because they now substitute Freedom of Religion with freedom to worship. Check his speeches…he speeks of worship. Worship in done in private. Obama would have me remove my cross at the public beach. It may ofend some.

Justice must be served. Man may ignore, disregard and even deny that he is imbued with a sense of right and wrong. However from the time of primitive man, stealing, murder, and adultery were perceived as evils to be avoided. And when they occurred, justice was served in a form best then suited to the times, because justice is part of our nature. It didn’t come from government. At the present time that is much discussion about illegal immigration. I suggest that no remedy to illegal immigration will ever permanently succeed unless justice is first served.

Parents and seniors should be honored. Aunt Bee in Mayberry USA was a fine woman; we all just loved her to death. Don’t we have a responsibility to care for her if she becomes in need? I say we do. And I say you know we do because it is in our nature. There are those Conservatives with strident views that Aunt Bee should take care of herself. A political party based of that persuasion will fail because it is the law of nature to honor parents and the elderly of the clan or tribe

The last illustration, but not a final one, is to

Respect the value standards of others. Early in these words, I spoke of peace and happiness being imbued in our human nature. A simple definition of peace is “leave me alone.” And of happiness, “I decide what it is.”Both peace and happiness are standards of personal value. What standards should set our lives? Those set by a government “Czar?” Count how many Czars in our present government, state and national, are trying to establish personal standards today. The peace and happiness sought by our human nature becomes a personal value standard as it is developed by learning values from parents, teachers, religious leaders, as well as other influential adults or peers. Over time we make certain values our own, always realizing that our choices and actions have consequences.

It is impossible to have personal values without discrimination. Oh boy, that’s a bad word. I say it is a beautiful word. A high compliment of my generation was to say that a person had discriminating tastes. The liberals have succeeded in destroying that word because of their mission to destroy personal value standards. They did it by coupling the word racial with the word discrimination as though the two are never to be used in a separate form.

I am a product of an Italian immigrant family. Our family lived in a multi-cultural neighborhood that was quite peaceful. Don’t’ laugh, but I grew up on “Main Street.” Across town in an area I shall leave nameless, lived families, many of which were Italian, where it was not so peaceful because of crime. My mother and father would continually stress to me to “stay away from that part of town, which I did and it was one lesson for me in discriminating good from not so good.

Okay, where is all this leading? What I have attempted to do up to this point is what attorneys do when they “set the predicate.”To set the predicate is to lead the listener or reader to a point of valuable conclusion.

In the next few days there will be much discussion about principles, our political planks, our policy statements, and candidate endorsements. Stuff like that. A political party is always seeking to win the support of as many people as possible to win an office for its endorsed candidate, or to have them re-elected. Too often, issues are kept as vague as possible, or as long as possible. There’s nothing basically wrong with that. That’s simply the way the political process operates in a republic. It is a representative form of government and we want “our representative” to represent us.

So, I say again. I understand fully that the Conservative Party USA’s goal is to win. But to win means to win back an America that will uphold the Declaration of Independence. The United States Constitution can be amended, a fact that liberals omit with their constant slams that the Constitution should be a living document. It would be if they let it live.

The Declaration of Independence, however, is not an amendable document. When the Founding Fathers drew up and adopted it, they made it unmistakably clear that whatever was to flow from it in the way of a new government, it was to be premised upon the Laws of Nature, endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, always appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world, and a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence.

I ask that as you each react to the business of the day for this founder’s convention that you keep your eye on the Declaration of Independence and how it would act out in the town of Mayberry USA. What would Aunt Bee say?

Our work at the Conservative party will be difficult, but it is our patriotic duty. Democrat Adlai Stevenson once said, “Patriotism is not a short frenzied outburst of emotion but the tranquil and steady dedication of a lifetime. I shall close with a prayer that I came upon by the Dominican Sisters who reside right here in New Orleans. It is a good battery-charger for volunteers.

I am only one

But I am one.

I cannot do everything

But I can do something.

What I can do

I ought to do.

What I ought to do

I will do,

By the grace of God.

Thank you for giving me your time. I wish you well.

My friends in the Conservative Party USA are getting together in New Orleans beginning tonight. Many of them will be meeting for the very first time face to face. I had planned to be there, but unfortunately I will have to miss this historic event.

Even though I cannot be there to celebrate the evolution and growth within the Conservative Party, I want to pay tribute to those of you who give of your time so freely simply because you are Americans who love your country and want to see and effect positive change in a political world gone mad.

The basis of the Conservative Party USA is a simple one – faith. The national and individual state leaders of this party have faith in the people of America – the real greatness of America is our people. They recognize this and seek to provide a political party about which we can all be proud.

We can be proud because the Party is US. We, the people, have seen the results of the efforts of our Founding Fathers and felt in part the same stirrings in our hearts that they must have felt as they signed the Constitution of the United States of America.

There are groups in America who want nothing more than to destroy the time-proven value of our Republic. Collectively we have recognized that if something isn’t broken, there is no need to fix it. Unfortunately, at this stage, there is much broken about our country, and it will take all of us pulling together, working with the same goals in focus, to fix the things that are broken, enhance the things that are good, and support the nation which has provided all of us with the freedoms we know and hold so dearly.

This weekend, as you are meeting together in this historic event, I would ask you to keep a few things at the forefront of your actions.

Make no compromise affecting your belief system. I know it would be practically impossible for everyone to be in 100% agreement 100% of the time, but if the compromises you make are for the good of the party as a whole, they are worthwhile. It is only when the compromise goes against ones basic belief system that disagreements will arise and create rifts that would be detrimental to our goals of building a conservative shelter for those of us who have been disenfranchised by the other political parties in America.

You are not the only American citizen represented by the Conservative label. If we are to successfully see the restoration of the greatness that is America in our politics, we must totally dissolve any selfishness that exists within our intentions. In the “me” generation of liberal lawmakers it is the selfishness which so overrides their decision-making process. Their attitude seems to be, “this is the way I want things to be because it’s the way I would have it in my perfect world.” America is not now nor has she ever been a nation of one person. What I see as a perfect world would not be the same world you see. The basis for your decisions must be the nation as a whole – not you as an individual.

Hold firmly to the truths of the American Constitution. It was written as a relative simple document but has evolved over the 234 years since it was signed into a document that many of our Founding Fathers would not recognize. Some of the changes have brought about positive changes for our country – some have not. Allow the words of the Founding Fathers, traitors that they were to England, to be your guide with every decision you make regarding the Conservative Party. It is not a perfect document yet it is very far ahead of whatever is in second place.

Remember the three-legged stool challenge. The three legs of fiscal conservatism, social conservatism, and national security. A three-legged stool with one leg missing cannot remain standing and will hold no weight. It is impossible to sit on a three-legged stool which has one of its legs missing. It takes all three. Our budgets at home are balanced even if not necessarily to our liking. Social conservatism involves doing what is right according to your faith even when someone else may be offended. Without defense, we would have long ago lost our freedoms entirely to the first third-world nation who decided they like the shape or population of America and can use it to benefit their own warped sense of values. Our freedoms are worth having; therefore, they are worth fighting for.

Rejoice in the fellowship of like-minded individuals. There are differences of opinions within any setting of two or more people. Those differences are not to be abused for the gain of a single individual. Celebrate the similarities that bind us together – love of God, family and country; respect for the Constitution; determination to bring about real change for the better. Enjoy the laughter you can share together. for many of you this may be the first time you have been in the same place other than your church with so many people who share your values and your opinions.

For the first time in my lifetime, there is a political party where I fit. My Conservative views are thought by some to be “ultra-conservative.” Others view me as “radically conservative.” I actually consider myself “mainstream conservative.” Whichever description you use for me, at least you will know that I am a Conservative from my heart outward. I find myself in excellent company because you are the same.

Even though I am physically miles from you as you undertake to shape the future of the Conservative Party USA, spiritually I am there with you enjoying the fun, fellowship and hard decisions that you will be making. Help me to share in your experience. Please send me an email and let me know the highlights of the convention from your individual viewpoint. On my personal blog, there is a place on the right sidebar that says, “kontactr me.”

I will not share your email address with anyone, but I would like to have as many opinions as possible to write about in a future article. It will be a way to create a virtual journal of everyone’s opinions. You may use your real name if you like or a pseudonym if you prefer. Please include your state of residence, and do not leave out anything! The funny things are as important as the serious. We can all share together.

I look forward to reading your account of the convention. Lord willing, I can share with you in person at next year’s convention.

The U.S. Constitution as originally ratified provided that of the two
bodies of Congress, the House of Representatives, where each House
member is answerable directly to the individual citizen in their
election district, would be elected by the popular vote of them, while
the Senate would answer directly to the states, each senate member
being appointed by their respective state legislature.

Simply stated, states are the Constitutional partners in the “United
States of America” partnership for the management of a federal
government. The state’s representation in the partnership consists of
two senators provided by the U.S. Constitution and appointed by the
respective state legislatures. The duty of the Senator on the affairs
of government relative to their state legislatures is somewhat akin to
an attorney or CPA acting on behalf of, and reporting to, their
client.

The 17th Amendment now permits the direct election of U.S. Senators by
a popular vote. The debate which initiated the 17th Amendment had to
do with a problem where state legislatures were often deadlocked in
the appointment of their senate representative. Progressives, knowing
that it was easier to manipulate the people than a sophisticated
legislature, used the problem to advance passage of the 17th Amendment
on the benefit of the “fairness” of a popular vote.

The 17th Amendment needs to be repealed because it has ruptured the
partnership agreement of the states in the management of a federal
government. The repealing amendment must contain the necessary
procedural steps at the state level for the appointment of senators.
One excellent suggestion has been to have the state appointment
process be a vote of the legislature acting as a Committee of the
Whole, with the Governor breaking tie votes.

The home of the convention will be the Loew’s New Orleans Hotel. The hotel is located at 300 Poydras Street, New Orleans, LA 70130. Check-in policies and hotel information can be found here. The main hotel phone number is 504-636-3300 .

Room Cost is $126/night for single or double occupancy. This special rate includes taxes and state fees. Please make your reservation directly with the Hotel Reservations department by calling 866-563-9792. Be sure to mention “Conservative Party USA” when you call to assure this special rate. Naturally, a standard credit card required and rooms are subject to availability.

For convention activities, the Registration Fee is $175 per convention attendee. Be an early bird and register for only $150 per attendee if paid by June 15, 2010. This fee will entitle you to all the convention activities including the reception on Thursday night, July 22, the banquet on Saturday night (evening wear required), July 24, and the business meetings held during each day (casual dress) of the convention. Please make checks payable to the “Conservative Party USA” and mail to:

11814 Coursey Blvd #530

Baton Rouge, LA, 70816

Attn: 2010 Convention.

On the assumption that most people will be flying, the most economical transportation from the airport to the hotel is the New Orleans Airport Shuttle. The rate is $38 round trip or $20 one way per passenger. This will provide ample savings over the normal $30 one way per person taxi fare. Please contact the shuttle service to reserve by calling 504-522-3500 or visit their website linked above.

If you plan to drive to the convention, be aware that the hotel provides valet parking with a convention discount of $20.00 per night.

Part of the business of the convention will be the debating of Party Planks. As a member in good standing of the Conservative Party USA, you are eligible and invited to submit suggestions for consideration to be included in the Party Planks. The National Site of the Conservative Party USA offers the abstract form for you to make your suggestion. You will also find on this site the method that will be used for approval of planks submitted by the membership.

I look forward to seeing you there.

I have been closely following the Primary Elections in the various states to this point. There have been twelve so far in addition to three Special Elections with Hawai’i having a Special Election on May 22.

By my count, 74 Governors, Senators and Congressmen will not be part of the November General Elections, the “mid-terms.” Some of the Governors are stopped by term limits, some Senators and Congressmen are retiring (wonder why?), one has been denied the nomination of his Party for reelection, Bob Bennett of Utah, two have been kicked out in the Primary, Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania and Alan Mollohan of West Virginia,. Two have resigned due to scandal, Mark Souder from Indiana and Eric Massa from New York. Several others are running for another national or state office.

Unfortunately, we will not really know until November whether we have taken a major step toward returning our America to what it was and should be. Until then there is an issue we must address. The sooner we do so the better equipped we will be to handle the tide of swelling Socialism in the United States.

Everyone knows that the major problem is the liberals/Socialists in Washington, DC. We must continue trying to get rid of as many liberal elected officials as we possibly can, but I have to tell you – it does not look too good from where I sit.

Incumbents whether Democrat or Republican are being elected in their primaries in overwhelming numbers. Folks, we simply cannot march in our TEA Parties, stand on the steps of the Capitol or continue sending letters, emails and making phone calls telling our elected officials that they do not represent us, and that we will remember this in November if we keep reelecting them in the primaries.

It is true that some of the Democrats are getting a little worried about their jobs and trying to give the appearance of moving more centrist than left, but that is merely an act on their part. You know that as well as I do.

In all fairness, I think some of the Republicans are getting our message as well, but it is much too little and much too late.

The Republican Party is being infiltrated by a group who want to change the Republican Platform and planks to a more socially liberal stance. These are the Libertarians. For years, they have had their own party. The problem is, they have not been able to succeed in gaining much support from American voters – until now. Their party is losing money and going bankrupt. The party leadership are not even trying to rebuild their party – they are going to take over the Republican Party because of the established track record and the money issues.

The problem is, they do not want to maintain and grow the Republican Party. Their one goal is to remake the Republican Party into the Libertarian Party while keeping the Republican Party brand. Is this what Republicans really want? Do the Liberty Republicans have any intention whatsoever of keeping the Republican Platform in tact? Not for one second.

They have succeeded in gaining footholds in many of our primaries forcing some die-hard Republicans to consider voting for Democrats in November. I do not blame them. At least with a Democrat, you know what you are getting.

Libertarians are hiding in the Republican Party as Liberty Republicans. They receive endorsements from Liberty Candidates. All the while, this is still the Ron Paul Libertarian Party with all of its socially liberal viewpoints. Ron Paul and his son, Rand Paul in Kentucky, have made bold speeches saying out-right that they want to “re-form” the Republican Party.

Michael Steele is not doing anything that I can see to avoid this takeover. In fact, he is looking only for candidates “who can win the election.” Such was the case with Dede Scozzafava in NY-23 last year. What was the result of that fiasco? She withdrew her candidacy and threw her support to the Democrat who eventually won the election.

If our elected officials are not willing or not aware of the situation to help stop this takeover, and if the leader of the Republican Party is not willing to stop it, what are we to do as voters in the Republican Party who are not willing to accept the platform changes the Libertarians will bring with them? Make no mistake about it – it WILL happen.

I have a suggestion for all of us. Tell the Republican Party to kiss your foot. Stop sending money to them. But if you do that, for whom will you vote? What do you look for to get the conservative issues you demand and the representation you deserve?

The Conservative Party USA is waiting to welcome you home. Come to the place where only conservative issues are held and uplifted. Support the party in your state. If they haven’t established the Conservative Party in your state, why not be the one to get it started? Candidates? They are everywhere – living right next door to you. Maybe even you.

It takes a lot of work to get a major political movement going and growing in the right direction. Be part of the solution for America – not the problem. Join the Conservative Party and show Americans what REAL Conservatism is and what it can do. Get involved. If we all work together, there may still be time to field our own Party Candidates in November. Why not give it a try?

Who knows – you just might succeed.

Political discourse in America is fairly acrimonious, but this is really nothing new. Since the founding of the country, personal smears are the standard on which one person or party gains a real or perceived advantage over another. Currently, one side screams racist or nazi, the other socialist or communist. Neither side of any issue hears the other, and so it becomes impossible to debate the core points of any discussion. Even when we do take the time to fully understand an opposing position, it is easier to allow misinformation and untruth to stir the population than it is to present logical well thought out arguments that persuade through superior reasoning. While engaged in political conversation with your friends and acquaintances, respect can easily be forgotten or cast aside, but whenever you allow your passions to overcome reason, you lose.

There is a scriptural concept that I consider important. Within the family of the followers of the Christian faith, you find the concept that all members are part of the same “body”. Just like your own body, the “body” of Christ has many parts. How can the hand say to the foot, I don’t need you? It is the same within the American “body”. We all have different skills and abilities; we all have different views and ideologies, but in the end, we need each other in order to address the issues of common concern.

Some keys to the successful restoration of Constitutional governance, is to identify and articulate exactly what those areas of common concern are, what is needed and how will we best be able to bring about the reconciliation of various interests. Proponents of the need for “third” party politics can never forget that while we prefer to stand apart from the two major parties, we cannot fully function without them. We have to be able to express the failures of the two party system in order to attract the disenfranchised and the unaffiliated. Both Republicans and Democrats recognize unaffiliated or independent voters have always been the key to swing their positions, and have been happy to “use “ us to their own advantage. They have historically believed we do not stand for anything, and bend to whatever direction political winds are blowing. While that may be still true in some cases, I believe it is not generally true anymore.

We as a people are responsible for the various political messes the country finds itself in. We as citizens are responsible for allowing government to evolve from what it was intended to what it is now.

Republicans and Democrats have been responsible for the corruption of government by special interests, but we have allowed it. How could it not be bribery to accept monies from any particular interest, when the responsibility of office is to vote the conscience of the people represented?

Republicans and Democrats have been responsible for the overstepping of Constitutional authority, but we have allowed it. In example after example, Federal level bureaucracies outside Constitutional authority are ineffective, yet they keep expanding. After decades of effort and money have failed to produce positive results, how can we not be justified to demand the defunding and disbanding of any agency not specifically authorized by one of the enumerated powers in the Constitution?

Republicans and Democrats have been responsible for negligent spending, but we have allowed it. In our own homes, we recognize that when we have no money we cannot spend. How could we not demand a balanced budget amendment, and a line item veto?

Republicans and Democrats have used race and economic status to divide us, but we have allowed it. We are one nation, divisible only by weakness of spirit and character.

Republicans and Democrats have been responsible for the false perception of government complexity. How can our founding documents be amazingly brief, and current proposed bills and laws require thousands of pages?

Republicans and Democrats have been responsible for our tax codes. The complexity has reached a point where even the people writing the codes cannot comply. How can we not demand a flat or “fair” tax structure so that all citizens shoulder the burdens of shared concern?

If you find these arguments have merit, and the proposed solutions are compatible with your views, then join us in restoring constitutional governance.

Come Home America!

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer.

The professor then said, “OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama’s plan”. All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A.

After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy.

As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little.

The second test average was a D! No one was happy.

When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. The scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else.

All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed.

Could not be any simpler than that.
