How simple it can be.

An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had recently failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama’s socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. (more…)

Score Your Candidate

How does one recognize a politically conservative candidate?  Is a campaign pledge necessary to guarantee conservatism?  No, that would be too easily broken.  Simply stated, a conservative is a person with character built upon a value system, a “scoring”, of the following declarations: (more…)

God doesn’t need a plank!

The Christian faiths are said to be apostolic meaning that the only messages they may proclaim are those received from the apostles. If a theologian, however well intentioned, starts to incorporate something new in the message, that message is no longer apostolic. Even if what the theologian advances is true. (more…)

ESSAY

In twilight of dawn, an American flag responds to a gentle morning breeze. Fifty stars evenly and equally placed on a field of dark blue, precede and stand above stripes of red and white. All prominent, powerful and proper in their placement and representation, yet for the country it represents, something is wrong, and much is missing. In brightness of daylight, our flag has stood offering itself as a symbol of hope, promise and refuge for all Americans, and the world. In the fading light of evening when people have both slowed their active day or begin it anew; it has stood. In the latest of nights and the darkest of hours for the minds, bodies and souls of the individuals in this great country, and around the world; it stood. When prayer and hope was all that remained, far out distancing all indignities, insults, illegalities, and betrayals, many of us have turned to look upward seeking the grace, forgiveness, and assurance of GOD first. Republicans and Conservatives: A Parting of the Ways

Published October 20th, 2009 in Political Thought | No Comments »

Even the best of marriages have rocky times.  Some say, there is always more love from one partner than from the other.  Unfortunately, the relationship between the Republican Party and Conservatives has been on a downhill slide for far too long for it to be saved.  The Republican Party, it seems, spends far too much time flirting with ideas it claims to disdain.  No need for an attorney here, throw the bum out! High Speed Reverse

“Reverse is a direction, going the other way.

L. M. O’neal”

For the past few months we have been exposed to a more detailed discussion concerning Healthcare.  However, the more popular media has to say about it, the less they say about what’s in it.  Our current President promised more transparency, but supplies less to none.  When called a liar in open session by Rep. Wilson from South Carolina, he, Wilson is sanction for stating the truth; though, in appropriately delivered; he was correct.  And now, President Obama is being proven to be a BIG FAT LIAR of the WORST KIND.

Does Obama listen to the American People?  ONLY IF YOU ARE SAYING WHAT HE WANTS TO HEAR.

Not hard to Understand

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.”

Revolution By Herbert E. Meyer

During the last 30 years we Americans have been so politically divided that some of us have called this left-right, liberal-conservative split a “culture war” or even a “second Civil War.” These descriptions are no longer accurate. The precise, technical word for what is happening in the United States today is revolution. (more…)

Has it hit home yet?

Almost 50 years ago, this appeared in Newsweek magazine:
“A wise man once observed, Liberty means responsibility.”
“This is why men dread it.”
“But if you dread it and ignore it, how long can it last?”
“Freedom, like a receding hairline, isn’t lost at once, it goes gradually.”

In a few days on the 4th of July, America celebrates once again the birthday of the principles that are the cornerstone of our nation’s freedom, the Declaration of Independence. The media will present patriotism on that day in the most appealing fashion, as though the image of us all as free people is still as intact as the time 56 signers (Patriots) set their name to the Declaration of Independence.
